Technology
At Cherokee Ridge Elementary, students utilize technology in the classroom to help advance their learning and help prepare them for digital usage outside of the classroom walls. Students develop digital responsibility, learn about internet safety, and how to use technology to further their thinking skills. Kindergarten utilizes iPads while 1st grade - 5th grade utilizes Google Chromebooks. Each student is provided a Google account that they are able to use throughout their learning career in Walker County. Teachers use Google Classroom to provide students with digital resources and access to quick feedback on assignments such as Google Docs.
Ready for college. Ready for work. Ready for life.

We will be having "Low Tech Tuesdays" this year at Cherokee Ridge Elementary every Tuesday! This is a county-wide initiative to provide more hands-on instruction and limit technology. We know that online devices are a part of everyday life, but we also know that students respond best to in person teaching! Our teachers and staff have dedicated Tuesdays to limited technology days in order to help students develop strong interpersonal skills, connect with others, and learn through in person teaching.

Our county utilizes a program called Clever that is one simple login for multiple sites/programs. This allows students to login to Clever using a QR code and then automatically be logged into school sites such as Google Classroom, Lift Off/Progress Learning, Xtra Math, and others. Please note that this is NOT a regular QR code that you can scan with your camera phone. You may get your student's Clever QR code from his/her teacher. Below you will find the directions on how to login to Clever and then be able to access our other educational sites and programs.
