Cherokee Ridge Elementary was built in 1998 and combined the traditions of two community schools (Osburn and Mountain View). The school is nestled in the foothills at the southern end of the Appalachians in Walker County, just outside Chickamauga, Georgia and the Chattanooga/Chickamauga National Military Park. The community is steeped in Civil War history.

CRE is under the leadership of Principal, Ms. Lori Vann and Assistant Principal, Mr. Steven Brown. Walker County Schools mission is to ensure that all students graduate; Ready for College, Ready for Work, Ready for Life. Cherokee Ridge Elementary is the starting point to the fulfillment of that mission. It is CRE’s goal for every child to meet their maximum potential academically through the utilization of diversified instruction. As our students move on to middle school and look back, it is our hope they will remember Cherokee Ridge as a place that prepared them for their present and future endeavors.
